This was an 8 band Prog / Power Metal Festival held at Cheltenham Racecourse, in a venue called The Centaur, which has to be one of the best venues I've been in for years.

Being that there were 8 bands, I can only really choose one shot from each set so here goes - this was also the first time I've had to stick to the three song rule, was an interesting experience, a lot more of these shots came out than I thought would at the time.

All were shot with a 350D and either the 50mm 1.8 or Sigma 70-200 2.8

Oh and I now hate dry ice almost as much as I hate drummers ;-)

nice set...i like Haggard the best, great capture. the last one might be a bit too dark for me, but you don't have a lot of options w/ smoke, so....

Apart from the blown red channel; yes.
Some nice images, but a bit more variation would've been welcome.

Gig?! Music?! in CHELTENHAM?! Well i never- i thought it was only small club nights there...

The venue was about 2000-2500 capacity I reckon and it was about 3/4 full - it was a really good event, very well organised and some great bands who I've been wanting to see for a while.

Ya gotta # these pics....some are very good... The guitarist and the drummer with the cymbals are outstanding of the bunch.
#1 is pretty cool too... It's one of a few, mike in the mouth pics, that look good to me...

Yup, good stuff. It would be OK to start a new thread for each or perhaps pair them up rather than only show one image per group here.
