Need a new bag...

I am in the market for a new bag. I am looking for something that I can carry my equipment listed below (will be upgrading to a 30D soon) and a laptop. The laptop is not a necessity but would be a big plus. Any suggestions? I don't know enough about bags to know where to begin to start looking.

No Laptop - Domke F-2

How big's the laptop? You could use either a Domke F-7AF or F-804 satchel with the 720-230 3-compartment insert for camera, couple of lenses and most laptops. With an ultra-thin one you could even use the F-802 with the same insert.

look up a dynatran AB-1633 It is what I use and love it, However, when you add all your gear and a laptop it gets very heavy on the shoulders after a decent days walk. the bag itself is light, do a search on Ebay for Ab-1633 , I got mine for under $50 shipped, or you can buy them in their store for just over $100. I found it to be more comfortable style backpack than the competitors......It will hold 2-3 Bodies and 6 Lenses plus the laptop....plenty of padding. btw i have a large 15.4" dell laptop and it fits in there just fine.

I do a fair bit of traveling and will be heading over to Scotland next month. I need to bring my laptop and would like to fit everything into on bag since I will be going through London and you are only allowed one carry on. I have a HP laptop with a 15 inch screen.

Anyone able to do one better and fit a 17" laptop in with their camera gear?

I'm looking for a bag capable of holding a 17" laptop (super thin - macbook pro) along with a body, 3 smallish lenses, 1-2 flashes, and various pockets for batteries, cards, chargers, etc. Does anyone have something that works for this?

My current plan is lousy - carrying two bags, one for the laptop, and the other for the camera. Alternately I can I add the camera components in individual padded bags to the huge compartments of the laptop bag. This would mean means unzipping at least two things to get to any camera component. What fun when in a hurry! :-)

So at the moment I'm stuck with two bags (and leaving one behind when shooting) or a huge bag with lots of padded containers inside it.

I'm not sure why folks seemingly keep ignoring recommendations to check out this backpack and/or the DynaTran products in general. I recently took the advice I found in this forum, did some reading and comparing, bought some equipment from Amvona (including this backpack), and have been very happy with the quality of the products and the 'bang for the buck' on these. Seems like good stuff at good prices.

I may be able to answer my own question. Looks like there are a few options, the cheapest I found was the Lowepro CompuDayPack:

Looks like we were both replying to my post at the same time! :)

I like the look of the 720 - a bit pricey, but no more so than other specific-us bags, and looks far better for my use! Thanks for pointing it out! In my searches of this site and others, I hadn't seen it come up.

FYI - I've now been using the compurover for the 17" macbook pro, one camera body, 3 flashes and three small lenses (nifty-fifty, tamron 28-80 and 28MM 1.8 USM). In addition, there is room for two stands and umbrellas on the outside of the bag and all the cards, batteries, card reader, power supplies, chargers, etc I need as well as a book and lunch on top.

At just over $200 all told, I'm pleased with the result. It's heavy, but that's not the fault of the bag, but rather due to all the stuff I've decided to carry with me!

There are a lot of bags that can carry a laptop and gear. I've seen them by Kata, Naneu Pro & Crumpler just to name a few. Biggest question you have to answer is do you want a backback or messenger style, etc. I like the messenger style but that is just me. Take a look around I've heard great things about the Kata line in the backpack style. Myself I travel a lot for business and like a shoulder bag so went for the Naneu Pro Military Ops Tango. I can hold my laptop, 400D with grip and 3 lenses one of which is attached.
