is it still AWD or has it been converted? you dont see many scoobies drifted...

you may wanna try cropping them for better compositions, apart from that they look great.

It is a type R which has an electronic centre diff that allows a variable torque split , with the diff in it's open position(no locking) it acts as though it is rear wheel drive

Gorgeous.... I love to see AWD sideways. I'd kill for DCCD

Thanks for the explanation of how you can get an AWD drifting. I am just glad my Legacy Estate goes where I point it in all weather conditions without fuss or drama ;)

Ooh... that's the STi model around here that has the variable diff. Neat stuff. First time I've seen one of those drift :)

If you want to see some killer Subaru drifting action, look up Nobushige Kumakubo of Team Orange. Your jaw will drop!

Aceept the new STi from the factory you can only shift some of the power forwards or back. That one can open or close the diff from what he posted.

The older STi's had DCCD (driver controlled centre diff) which you could alter the amount of torque that was sent to the front wheels , from 33%(effectively open diff) to 50%(locked diff) . I believe there were 6 settings allowing various amounts of locking , also pulling on the handbrake automatically sends the diff open allowing you to do handbrake turns :D .
Some of the newer STi's have A-DCCD (auto-driver controlled centre diff) which has an ECU which takes signals from various sensors on the car to adjust the amount of lock applied to the diff .

The driver was very considerate only drifting when he had a good amount of space around him , better manners than most

Sweet pics but that could be the ugliest (colour wise) Impreza I have ever seen! Reminds me of Halloween!
