Last one is nice.
You have to look closely to see flash was used, which is a good sign IMO.

Generally, I like the pics... the tilt style doesn't always work for me... # five is very interseting... I'd still prefer no flash... It seems a bit on the bright side...

I like #5 the best also. What exactly did you do with the flash? I am still learning about flash techniques and was wondering how you lessened the look of the flash...

explains why the last is so much better. you really dialed it in right.
what settings did you use and do you have a diffuser on the flash.

OK, a quick Rene-like review:
#1 Subject is too squared up ... move him up or even try portrait orientation.
#2 If you are going to use an odd rotation then the image should crop right ... legs/feet should not be cut off. In this one, everything should be shifted to the left. As it stands it looks like you were focusing with the center point and did not know how to recompose. The light diagonal bar on the left is distracting.
#3 Again, the odd rotation should get the feet in this image ... you could have rotated farther to get everything and again it looks like he is centered up because you didn't focus and recompose.
#4 Again too centered up. Also I'd lighten his face a tad so the eye is drawn to it.
#5 The best shot, but as with the others it looks like you are focusing with the center point and don't know how to recompose.
OK, I just wanted to show that I can give good critique ... on someone's images that knows I like his work, including this set, which does have great energy, timing and crispness ... and #5, except for crop/rotation improvements shows masterful use of flash ... as good as Rene's in my opinion, so it would be nice if you'd say something about how you came to do this one.

Don't have much too add to Dwights comments...
I still like #5. In #4 the flash is a bit too visible IMO.

I was struggling with the flashing lights on a lot of them but i must have timed it just right, i'm still very new to concert photography, i was shooting on manual, flash set to lowest 1/128 (580ex) and upped the iso to 1600 so it used less flash

Thank's Dwight i'll take onboard you comments for next time, with the tilt i tried following the line of the guitar but it didnt work , I went on a fill flsh coarse a few months ago and remember the tutor saying if you up the iso the flash has less to do but i think it was just luck

I see what you mean about the flash, i was struggling without it so thought i would give it a go, next time no flash, how do you meter with all the flashing lights ?

Tricky. I use ETTL and -FEC -1 to -3 Depending on situation (amount of smoke, kind of shot etc.)
Alternatively I'll use manual or FEL. FEL works well with closer shots, manual or ETTL work okay with a bit of luck...

But do you first meter for avaliable light ? I'm still a beginner with flash

Well, one of the problems I have with Canon flashes, is that it's impossible to use a flash at manual, yet the camera on Auto. I'd like to be able to do that; If my aperture is fixed, as well as subject distance, I get constant flash exposure at e certain manual flash setting. I could use Av to compensate for changing ambient....
Alas, that's not possible...
So I use Av or M, depending on how 'stable' the ambient is, and what mode the flash is in. (Club lighting often 'cycles': same intensity coming again and again; you can measure once, set a manual setting, and then wait for the light to return... Not the easiest way, but a workaround)
I might try out using a hotshoe to sync adapter in a while, to decouple the 'intelligence' of the flash. (Camera doesn't know there is a flash then) See how that works...
