This morning, the local shortline dumped a couple of loaded rock cars just east of Conway, SC. I got a chance to stop by on my way home from work and snapped a couple of quick and dirty shots. Pretty good mess for only two cars going over...
The railroad is the Carolina Southern (CALA). This line runs from Conway to Myrtle Beach, SC. The rest of the line runs from Conway to Chadbourn, NC then over to Mullins, SC where they interchange with CSX on the Andrews Sub.

Interesting shots.

What amazes me about typical train wrecks is how quickly the railroads get the mess cleaned up. We recently had a big derailment out here near Salton Sea, and they had trains running the next day.

Was that the infamous "blue cheese" derailment?
