seeing as ive been on this wedding forum for a few months now and ive not actually posted anything of my own, the reason being i havent done any weddings this year :D
but i thought i'd post some images from my very first wedding last year. my next wedding is in september over in spain which will only be my second wedding as main shooter but i would like some C&C on these ones from some of the guys on here.
the reason i thought i'd post these ones is because over the last 6 months or so i feel im getting a little better at using photoshop and making some average photos look actually quite good. of course i know its always good to get the shot correct in camera but i was still learing when i shot these, these were also shot in jpg which is something i would never do now :D . hence why i practically did them for nothing to gain some experience. even the one over in spain will be shot for nothing. well its for a friend and he's paying flights etc and im hoping to get some great shots to help build a good portfolio so i couldnt say no when he asked me last year.

anyways, heres the photos from my first wedding last sep.

I like the last one! The direct flash in the shots detracts from the overall photos IMO. The post processing feels pushed too hard to create a decent photo. I hope this doesn't come off rude, I'm just sharing my opinion. :)

no not at all. like i said this was my first time and i really didnt have the correct geat at the time. the B&G knew this but were still happy for me to do the job. they were actually thrilled with the photos, and at the time, so was i but looking back i realise how much ive really learned since then. im expecting my next one to be 100x times better. i guess its all a learning curve eh.
thanks for the input mate :D

Seems to me no matter how hard you worked with the background of shot no2 you had no hope !! what lens did you have then? I bet if you shot that now with the 17-55is you pictures would be so different. Also I bet you used the 350d which unless your very good like our northern friend :-)
is hard in low light to get right.

Each shoot makes you better after all none here can say that there first pictures were stunning

Martin.

i did have the 50mm 1.8 at the time but focussing was terrible, the majority of shots were taken with my 350D (onboard flash) and a sigma 17-70. this is why im fairly impressed at how good they actually came out given the circumstances.
onwards and upwards i say :D
