I just took what I think is the most amazing and provocative image of my career. Though some may find it edgy, controversial, and deep in meaning, it is true that every photo has its story. I did some PP, removed a polka dot dress that was part of the composition, as well as the hand of an assistant, trying to get the stuffed tiger. (which by the way, looks a whole lot like a duck, most people make the mistake of thinking it is such a thing). And I am wearing lipstick.

So tell me, what do you think about this amazing people photograph?

BTW: I did replace the backdrop, redwoods seemed too distracting, and so I masked this instead.

You're very lucky

Well I do like how you used the sun as a natural hair light.. Came out well.

I'm not sure about her multi-colored hair, the halter top with bold stripes, the poka dot shorts, and the oversized clown shoes. There's too much going on there.

Very nice lighting though and perfect exposure.

Thanks, Pal. I really appreciate that.

I'm not sure her outfit really goes with the Redwoods as a backdrop - I like the sunbeams through the morning fog though, very moody.

In future just check you composition a little more, I can see part of an assistants arm in the lower right corner. Other than that great work.

Really? because I actually thought they really complimented each other......you know, like complete opposites... to each their own.

But....

I think your shutter speed was way to slow, it looks as if she may have breathed and caused some motion blur.
Good first try though! Welcome to the forums and keep posting.

I'm sorry, if you wouldn't shave your legs and didn't have man boobs maybe we could tell a difference. And cut your hair. We were trying to be nice but since you fessed up and said it was you- you could use a little work....

And the lipstick and nail polish was confusing!

It does explain the duck though.

Ok, now pretend this is a brand new thread (you never seen before) and read from very beginning to end. Does it work?.. I think it is somewhat funny. In the future, if we keep the CC within a certain scope, the picture poster may actually have a lot of fun trying to fit the elements into the picture.

Thank you. And thanks to my wife for volunteering her wonderful foot for the image.

And thanks Kathy, that is probably the longest word in the forums ever, but coming from you it is a great compliment. :)

Uhhh....

I'm not certain my previous comments really cover this situation.

I guess all I can say is:

That photo is quite a feet! It has many, uh, interesting feet-ures. And I must say, after seeing your photo, you've de-feeted all possible comments regarding improvements. I mean, where would we start?

very clever!!!

I must also add I owned and worked in a salon for 8 years before photography....this really hit home for me. Another really great example as to why I don't miss it! Although, I must say, after 8 years- I have only seen one set of toes uglier

[sniff] that was cruel... I actually almost lost both my feet when I was a kid, due to some weird rare disease. (true story, 1985)

On the other hand, this is what you get when you post your pre-groomed foot on a world renowned Photography forum !:D

A famous painter once told me -mind you, we were both very drunk- that in history only two types of characters are remembered. Those who are great, and those who are crazy.

"When you can, be both", and he winked.

Seriously though, I do bring my limited talent and flawed experience to the forum, but when I can make a difference by lightening things up -at the cost of getting off the wall titles, or looking nuts- or just make someone smile while staring at a computer screen. It is the best CC one can get.

But I do take serious pictures.

Indeed, he certainly has a toe in the door for his career. I'm surprised how he bared so much of his sole and how he trimmed the composure, despite it being nailed initially.

Right, back to the ducks and lipstick....

A duck walks into a chemist's, and asks to buy a lipstick. The cashier says "Will you be paying cash?"

And the duck says....

Do let us know, we could have a POTN-CALI-Meet, I am not sure how often those happen, but I have never been to one. I also would like to meet the other POTNers in the area.

And if the wedding does not pan out, remember that "There is always a good excuse to come to California" (Golden Gate, Reedwood Trees and Sequoias, Yosemite, Hollywood and oh so much more). .
