Finally the “AA” little league baseball season opened here today. The boys are 11 and 12 years old. I broke out the 1DmkIIN and the 300mm f/2.8 and grabbed a few shots. The visiting team scored 2 in the top of the first and that’s the way it ended. The game was over in 1 hour 15 minutes so not much infield action tonight. I picked up the lens during the winter so tonight was the first real outdoor test with it. I’m very pleased with its performance. C&C welcome of course.

Nice action. Big Poppi looks like he can tear the cover off a baseball!

These are some nice shots. I especially like #3. I know how hard it is to get the catcher's face in the shots. I have a ton of pictures of me catching, but none of my face. #4 is a bit distracting to me. I like the concept, just not the result. #6 is a nice shot. I hope he got the bat out of the way in time....foul ball. Keep them coming. I like these.
