Okay, I'll say it.

#2 is one of the best concert photos I've ever seen here.

It may be a tad blurry, but you couldn't have paid for better composition, and that's the trump card on that shot.

Flat out freakin' well done, man...

yeah ill add to that and Number 1 is awsome but they are all Oof but framing and timing are great.
Nice set.

I like #1 better personally, but nice capture on the jump in #2. :)

I would really love to see Flyleaf sometime. Great band.

#1 is a bit dark, but very nice timing. #2 is a-okay. At first I thought the backdrop read 'Flyer' ;)
Drummershot and last one are nice as well.
#2 takes the cake though.

On a side note: The images do look quite heavily compressed.

I just checked out their tour schedule. I didn't know Chambersburg High School ever held anything interesting in the auditorium. Only thing we ever got to see when I went there was the DARE cops.

Looks like they're coming to House Of Blues in San Diego in June.

Time to contact management...

Steve, they are really fun to shoot. My favorite so far. Though the singer is really tough to get - I couldn't get anywhere near the front.

I think House of Blues might have a barrier so you will be in prime position.

Lot of jumping on the first two-three songs.

yeah, I agree. I really pushed them in post processing in photoshop.

However, the ones I've printed out - 1 and 2 in the orginal post, both look great at 11x17.

Soft and Dark! Oh, and small! Geez, if we could teach you to photograph properly you could make a crappy band look good! J/K, of course. You did get the "amazing captures" of what looks like an interesting group of performers. Was the music any good?

thanks. I got to change my name though to 30D user. These were with the Canon 30D, first time I shot it.

I hadn't even read the manual. I was fiddling with the controls throughout.

And their is a "mind"component, I think the shots could have been better but I was expecting XT results, including misfocus. Thus, I would keep hitting the focus, refocusing, because I didn't trust the camera had focus. At times, the camera probably had focus but I took it out!

I didn't have confidence. Now I do. Can't wait to shoot the next show. And then, I think it was blackshadow, that tells me not to pick up a 1D mark II series!

lol! I came with low expectations of the music being a dark, grungy mess of screaming. turned out that the music, while definitely modern hard rock, was anthemic, melodic and emotionally powerful performed live.

i don't know how to explain it. it's sort of a "next level" the songs reach do to the band really injecting presence and performance into the music. a record can only convey so much of that. made me a fan.
