I got the Rocket Blower.
Its decent but while holding the camera with one hand and squeezing the bulb with the other hand I find I cant focus the air on the sensor as well as I would like.

The tripod would solve this issue but a foot blower sounds appealing.
Please recommend.

Has anyone used canned air? or is it a bad idea being under pressure?

Canned air is not air but a fluorocarbon. If used perfectly and there is not a hint of a tilt to the can, you will only get gas, but every once in a while you will get some of the liquid propellant spurt out and leave a big drop on your sensor. Because of this, canned gas is not recommended for use.

Airbed foot pump it is then! :)

I dont know what you guys have got stuck on your sensors but I am gentle with the roket blower never mind and airbed footpump :-)

The foot pump doesn’t put out that much more pressure, more volume, yes but not more pressure. It is easier to manipulate though. With the bulb blower the tip tends to fly all over the place and keeping it trained on a stubborn spot is tough. With the foot pump, the tip and pumping action is separated so the tip can be held very still while still delivering its blast.

www.lenspen.com has products reasonably prices and they work 100% perfect. I was afraid to use the sensor cleaner at first, but after using their laptop monitor cleaner and lens cleaner, I felt more comfortable. I posted results of the sensor cleaner a few months back, it was 100% perfect CLEAN after one use and has remained that was thus far! Great people to deal with also!

Wait up on this. I would not want to use a foot pump as it is likely to blow in very dusty air. You are likely to cause more problems than cure. Maybe put the camera on a tripod if you cannot hold and manipulate the blower at the same time.

Copperhill was supposed to get some of the new sticky tape cleaners in soon if you are nervous about wet cleaning.

Even a blower bulb I store in a ziploc bag to keep it dust free, and wear headgear to keep bits of hair out of the camera's chamber while I clean.

I tried a foot pump, but like Quad said above, it was full of dust and made things a lot worse. My suggestion: get yourself a new Rocket blower and use that.

NEVER use "canned air" around a camera. If you get any of the liquid on parts like the mirror (and possibly other parts), it can cause permanent damage.

Guess they don't make dust free foot pumps?

Until they do Ill stick with the rocket blower.

I got another question but ill start a new thread to ask.

I've got the rocket blower, the Q version of it. The nice thing about this one, is that the angle of the tube where the air comes out off (what do you call that anyway? :P ) can be changed. That way you can use it under a lets say, 45degree angle and is it much easier. Also, it's easier to stuff away in your pack, since it's height is somewhat smaller.
