Hi all

Here is a shot of a Gadwall that I found when I was going through shots from this winter. I rather like the pose so I decided to share it. Please feel free to comment (C&C). :-)

Another nice shot. You caught some color on the wings I haven't seen before
on these birds.

That's a real mastery to get a shot like that in poor light and against ice !

Very very nice, I love the wing display...I really like how you managed to capture all the feather detail and colours here despite battling some tough overcast light, excellent!:)

I really like the feather detail and the exposure. People don't think of the Gadwall as beautiful. You brought out it's beauty very well.

is the duck going thru a plumage phase? i.e. summer/winter or is this its plumage year round? very pretty--haven't seen that type of duck b4.

great shot Sindri! Kinda looks like AK--we live in similar climates. BRRRRRRRRRRR

Nice shot Sindri. I also like the pose...had it just finished a wingstretch?

In this case it was preening so it looks a bit unusual. :-)

Nice shot Sindri. I also like the pose...had it just finished a wingstretch?
Yes, indeed. The Gadwall was preening and had just finished a wingstretch. Got that as well but due to low shutter speed (it was an overcast day) the wings were to blurry for my liking. :-)
