View Full Version : mini competition "PhotoShop tricky pictures"
DozerLYP

I'm pretty sure you've all seen trick pictures looking around on the net. and that gave me an idea, why don't we start a trick picture competition.
no rules, just make it look unreal.
so if you have made some in the past, feel free to post them. but the point of this, will be to practice different things with PhotoShop. or what ever the software you are using and have fun at it.
this is not my creation, but the pic that gave me the idea.

and now I'll try to come up with one on my own...

these are brilliant, well done
Sorry but here's more Subaru related ones from me.
A guy who owns a tuning company was having a racing car built, and asked me to photoshop a standard car to look like how his will be on completion. He gave me a list of parts he was using and I "just" had to find photos of them. He used the second one to go around potential sponsors. (The original photo was not taken by me, but I do have permission to use it). This took around 20 hours to complete.

Here's another from me, a guy got in touch through this internet thing after seeing some of my photoshop work. He had purchased this property in south america somewhere and had plans to renovate it into flats and a shop. He asked if I could "tidy it up" so he could show the bank the plans he had for it.

Thank you for the kind words! Photoshop CS2, Wacom Intuos3, and alot of patience. I like a slightly textured scatterbrush at low opacity using different blend modes.
After the shirt color was painted in on a separate layer, I went to the channels pallet and made a selection of the Green layer --> Copied the selection --> and pasted it on a new layer in the layers pallet. --> Gaussian Blurred the layer and changed it's blend mode to soft light and 75% opacity. This caused the silky effect on the shirt. Hope that makes sense...;) This technique also works wonders for that Glamour Shot softness on skin.

Haha, thats actually a funny question (without you even knowing ;))
iStockPhoto is a stock photography website where you can download an image and use it royalty free for about $1. There are over 3 million images on this one website alone and all are perfect for photoshopping. Thats the whole point of stock, to be used by designers for stuff.
They win credits for free stock when they win a "cage match".

I love it! After getting used to the tablet, I feel lost doing any Photo-chopping without. Quick selections are a snap, and adding subtle shadows and tones are far easier with a tablet. You could get a 'lightly used' tablet on E-bay which are selling pretty cheap.
Since I work from a home office, I purchased a 4x6; which allows greater flexibility and portability when I need to work with clients on location as well as the occasional retreat to Starbucks. (Working from home makes for alot of Cabin Fever!)

Great Job! I really like the textures and rock solid use of colours.
Maybe a few small tweaks to the hair to bring out a bit more depth & flowing texture. The hair seems somewhat flat to me and is a bit different than the textures & gradients in the surrounding image, but that may have been intended...
There's something about the eyes that could use a bit of change...Maybe, if you have some closeups of another person's eyes you could overlay them on her face-->try different blending modes to only allow the texture of the eyes layer to show through-->reduce the opacity to the eye layer. The desire is to give them a more realistic look?
Still, very nice!

It's really frustrating trying to view this thread. I'm on dial-up and the image load per page seems to kill my connection before any pictures complete.
All of my stuff is pure Photoshop (working with Canon images, of course :) ). It's painful to resize this one from 4800 to 800 px wide.

The only advise I can really give is spend as much time in PS as you can. The better you know your tools the better your results will be.

Wow, this is some pretty cool paining you got going on here.
I never really pained anything in PS before. and I need to learn and practice this a little more. I'm trying to fix some old pictures that will require me to do some painting like this one. (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=440426)
