The exposure looks high on the first one. I like the composition though.
The second one seems to lack punch and impact. Perhaps more contrast and saturation, followed by a bit of sharpening?

Just did a little adjustment to the first one to bring the WB down but keeping the DOF.

The rest of the colour photos could use a bit of touching. This is what I would do personally, which may or may not agree with your style...
Saturation bump
curves
high pass sharpen
slight edge burn

Looks nice Lloyd. I was thinking that it would look even better as a B&W with maybe a selective colour of the flowers. It still comes off a little flat in colour.
The one I played with still has his face a little blown even after a cooler tint and some curving etc.

i like the confetti shot. Number one looks promising but needs a little PP to staraighten it up and develop the highlights.
Number 2 i had a play with.

CSM dude,
Is your display calibrated? You processing looks god awful.....i don't mean to be rude.
All i can think is that your display is way off...it may look ok to you on yours but here it looks way to saturated and 100 times worse than the original. Sorry mate.
i hope i didn't offend you...t'was not my intention

Not at all offended. I can see it on mine and 'no' it's not calibrated. I did the group one aswell, uploaded it then deleted it cos it looked like crap! My little HP Laptop needs a calibration. Something else i need to learn. lol

It still needs highlight control. But that is my favourite pic of the bunch. I love the shot and I LOVE old buildings and I really have a thing for mono/duotone and old buildings. As I said I think the composition of the shot is nice (the angle might be off a little as the stairs look straight but the upper part isn't... oh well it still looks good to me) but I think it could use a high contrast sepia or something kinda like this...
it might be kinda extreme to some but really, my high contrast images are my best sellers. :)

Lloyd, thanks and thanks everyone else also.
Lloyd, I do like the mono with the building, I see what you mean. It does look a little extreme on my screen but I get the idea. I'll have a play around and see what I can come up with. Thanks again...

Yeah, just did some highlight recovery, turn it to sepia (kk choc syrup), used the burn tool manually, did an edge burn (kk), and that's it. About 35 seconds.
Debi, are you working on a calibrated screen? Maybe it's displaying too much contrast and is too dark, which might be why your photos look too bright and are low contrast. A screen calibration system can be had for very cheap. I use a $70 piece called the Pantone Huey.

Lloyd, Hi yes, my monitor is calibrated. I use Spyder2pro. It hasn't been done for about 4 weeks so it is now due again. I think my images lose a little contrast/detail when I convert for web? Maybe a bit of both !

it would be a good idea to crop that horrible light fixture out of that groom shot - its way too distracting.
i ran a kevin kuboto action that i happen to really like, i know a lot of you will not but it is a little different - and i think sometimes being a little different can be good.

tlc you need to run the highlight controller that also came with the kuboto tools and pull back that face a little
