View Full Version : Reliant K - Purple Door Fest 2006 - Canon XT and 135mm f2.0

Different camera. Different photog - my assistant Kyle Wilhem. Because he was taller, 6' 4," I gave him my Canon Xt and the 135mm f2.0 to shoot above the crowd. I set everything, handed him the camera and told him to point and shoot.

Reliant K is:

Matthew Thiessen - lead vocals, guitar, piano

John Warne - bass

For this show, Kyle was about two-three rows behind me, ie. further from the stage yet got way more of the artist in frame than me.

Look at my other thread to see the difference 8 plus extra inches in height and 80mm of extra reach give you - 135mm*1.6 vs. 85mm*1.6.

They look good, I like the last best you don't always get chance to shoot the drummer

Maybe a little dark for me, but nothing some curves couldn't fix :D

Love the last shot, but clone or crop that blurry elbow ;)

Overall: Tell him not to cut the feet...
Your shots are better. Nice to see two different photographers cover the same gig.

Nice photos. You should know, however, that the band name is spelled "Relient K" with an e. You have it spelled with an "a" in all of your photo labels.

They look good, I like the last best you don't always get chance to shoot the drummer

On the Nintendo Fusion Tour, I was able to get some great shots of Dave, but for this tour he was really poorly lit, so I know how hard it was to get anything of him at all. These were taken prior to Dave giving himself a buzz cut. LOL He still has hair. ;)

Somewhere on here I have pics from Salt Lake City of Relient K. Most of my decent shots were of Jon Schneck.

I like the third shot of Matty.
