The first shot is a great piece of journalistic photography, Tells a sad story. Not sure about the second one, selective color makes this guy look like he was pasted in. Would have looked better if it were all BW I think.

I'm in agreement. I don't like the color in the 1st image. Really nice "contrast " between the people on the sidewalk and the man looking the other way.

Although these photos make my heart ache... I think they are so very important. We, like the older man in the photo, tend to "not know what to do" and "look the other way" when things aren't what we want to see... Thanks for not looking the other way. Maybe shots like this will make us face reality and do something about it.

Your photos are incredible. Each is more vivid at describing something than the last. I really am in awe at seeing the world through your eyes.
Great pics, thanks.

Excellent captures, Mojos! Like the others said, I think that selective coloring is a bit overboard in this situation. Also, I know that vignetting is your intent, but making that halo immediately around the subjects looks like hastily made dodging, especially in the second pic. Great texture though, what conversion method did you use?
It is unfortunate that this condition exists there, or anywhere for that matter. This brings back memories - I used to volunteer for RSCC, a facility in Quezon City that takes in street kids. That was a life changing experience for me .... all these orphaned kids, most of whom show promise given the right conditions, all hungry for love and attention. I wish the local politicos there would wake up and help the country for a change.... Thanks for sharing, mabuhay ang pinoy!

#2 is better in BW but since you were trying to the selective color you might want to try it again only with the colors desturated. However, you might want to try that same technique but with one of the kids in desaturated color.
