Hi all

First post, and it's not a happy one...

I have an A70, which is around 3 years old. It's been faultless to date, but today it's developed a fault. Take a look at the images below... One is my bedroom window, the other is the LCD TV on my wall. This is how all shots now look using the camera. The image in the LCD is identical, but displays all old photo's as normal.

Am I looking at replacing the camera?

Thanks in advance

Take a look at the Sticky Service Notice for Canon PowerShot Models (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=238911). IIRC yours is one of the afffected models, and the symptoms sure seem to match.

Thanks Jon.

Went to Canon UK to see if they are still repairing them, and they are. So just need to drop it off at the approved repair centre for free repair.

Just a shame I won't have it back for a wedding this weekend!

hi a70 owner. i just got mine back from canon. they replaced the sensor because it was doing the same thing as yours. the pictures were identicle to yours. it took about 2 weeks for them to fix it and now it's as good as new.

Well a big thanks to this forum

Got my A70 back from the nearest Canon authorised repair centre within a week, and all is well. If I'd not have found this place, I'd have scrapped it!

Alas! My A70 has just started this with distorted images all colours wrong.
I've just contacted Lehmanns of Stoke on Trent, I'm hoping they will respond that they'll do the repair for free (I do expect to pay Postage though).
Anyone in the UK had dealings with Lehmanns?

I got my A70 repaired free of charge also. In fact I am waiting for the shipping label for my A75 to be repaired.
Yes Cheesy, they are quick.
