It seems to be required to post a message when ordering the first L glass so here it is
Just ordered the "Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM" and I should have it on tuesday just in time to hopefully shoot the moon eclipse tuesday night. I will be using a 2x extender with it on a Canon EOS 300D.
Can't wait to pickup the lens, I thought I had to wait weeks or months to get this.

Ahhh..........you are in for a treat.
This lens (and the 17-40 f4 L) are the 2 bargains in the "L" category. Enjoy!!!

I have that same lens (my only L lens so far). I've been extremely pleased with it.
Don't forget your $30 Canon rebate!

Don't forget your $30 Canon rebate!
I have not ordered it online in a US shop, besides those rebates are usually only for americans.

Doh! Sorry, didn't mean to tease you with the rebate. I hadn't noticed where you were posting from.
Regardless, you'll enjoy that lens!

Thats ok, in Europe (Denmark) we are used to the high prices compared to You lucky americans

That's great! :) I'm sure you will enjoy it and take some great shots. I would like to get an L lens eventually, but my bank account is still trying to recover from my DRebel purchase.

Congratulations and I'm sure you will enjoy the experience! :)
I got my first L glass a couple of days ago a 17-40 and it's not stopped raining in my part of the UK since. I've only been able to do some indoor stuff and a couple of quick shots out of doors between the rain. First impressions are good though! Congrats on your purchase !
I wanna see pics !
I've only had my rebel for like 2 days, and I already have 2 lenses on my shopping list  : Canon 100mm f2.8 macro, and a 70-200mm f2.8L
Okay, this a little off topic here. The 70-200mm f2.8L... there is approximately $600 price difference between the IS one, and the one without IS. Is it worth the extra money (I'm leaning towards action/sports photography, but not only).
Once again, congratulations, and..... enjoy !

Does anybody have sample photos shot with this lens? Perhaps also photos shot with the 2X extender in use.

I shot these, but I'm no pro...and it was the first time out with that lens (on a very overcast day). No TC on it, both shot at 200mm.
