less, the depth of field is way too shallow at 1.2

A bit more dof might be nice but if you were resticting yourself to 1.2 these are good ihmo, except the bike maybe where the exhaust is too much in focus. Shot nr.3 is great

I dig the slim DOF, I love selective focusing as in these shots. Great lens from what I hear. I'll get one, once i get the lottery ;)

Hello Curt, WELCOME to the forum. :D I think the shallow dof works well with the first batch of photos. You've captured some very nice cars (and bike).

What body [camera] do you use? It should have a DOF preview button [about 5 o'clock then you have the camera facing you] which might help.

I don't think the DOF is the problem its the area thats infocus. the first shots other than tiny DOF don't really exagerate the target, your angles to the object is too great so the backgraound while OOF is distracting

A few Car Lighting Tips (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=70290) also, i need a polarizing filter No, you don't! The light on the Mustang under that comment is just fine! looks like all those pictures use a wider dof.. i'll work on it It's tough to see in the viewfinder, even using the DOF Preview. The best way to learn is to take a series at different f-stops & check them later. (I'll buy the film for you!) :D

Hey thanks for your input. I'll continue to work on it! As for the filter, I was referring to shots like these so I can actually get the thumbs up in the picture

yes you do, the reflection on the widscreen would be removed with a CP andyou would be able to clearly see the driver

damn I need to start going back to C&C, I havn't been in a few weeks. If you guys see a white Lotus Exige come say hi, would love to meet more photo/car enthusiasts in the area. I might try to make it this next saturday since my track day got cancelled.

I actually really like the shallow DOF on that set, great lens.

Looks good Curt. One nice thing about a car like that is you don't have to worry about trading up every year or two. Cars like that will always be in style. ;)
