Is this lens too small for weddings? Also...is the image quality good enough for weddings?

What do you mean by "too small for weddings"??

I don't know anything about this lens so will let someone who owns it answer your quality question. (Or check here: http://www.photozone.de/8Reviews/lenses/sigma_1850_28/index.htm -- looks like corner sharpness and CA's are big issues at wide apertures -- bad for weddings)

What I can say is that the rest of the lenses in your kit are most likely inadequate for weddings -- sharp f/2.8 zooms are essential for this sort of work (except at the ultrawide end, perhaps) and the AF of your 50/1.8 isn't up to the task.

It costs a bit to get set up properly for weddings (before you even buy backup gear). Cheaper (but still optically good) options than the Canon 17-55/2.8 IS and 70-200/2.8L include the Tamron 28-75/2.8 (not very wide though -- the Tamron 17-50/2.8 has a good reputation too tho) and the Sigma 70-200/2.8.

Hope that helps.

I don't know if you've been around the forum or not, but find any post by "Tim". He has a very FAQ link in his signature. It's very helpful. Good luck.
