This one is early. It's got the rather sad name of dingy skipper, but I think it's quite an attractive little insect.

At the same spot I saw this little moth, called a mother shipton. Early biologists were rather whimsical in their naming.

On a roll, I went to a favourite site and was gobsmacked to see my first ever marsh fritillary there, almost a month early. April 2007 has seen record UK temperatures.
