Lighting wasn't on my side but Lightroom did a decent job 'saving' it. This is my first shot taken outside with it since getting it on Thursday.

Just picked this lens up yesterday. I chose it over the Tamron 11-16 on the basis of flare resistance and closer MFD. The close MFD makes for some great Mr. Bill shots. Notice a bit of flare on the grill of the truck but the sun was just outside of the frame and I had no hood on and no hand shading going on. I'm very happy with the 10-22 so far.

I love the colors and contrast on this lens, but a little too slow for my taste. I realize you dont really need the fast aperture for landscapes, but its good to have just in case it gets mildly dark and you dont have a tripod.

I have done a couple of car shoots with this lens, and while fantastic in good light, it really lacks in performance when the sun starts to set. Long exposures are needed, so it really didnt work me, as i couldnt pose the model for 30 seconds without moving on top of a car. There will always be some slight movement and that threw the picture off completely....

Overall a very good lens tho, and definitely worth the money, if you buy it used.

Some amazing shots in here with this lens.

I was so close to buying the new Sigma 10-20 but after reading how some members here got lenses with soft spots in the older 10-20 I'm thinking I might just get this one instead. And I get 2 more mm with this one on the higher end. Hmmmm. Looks like this would be the safer route.

It was shot at 10mm, f/4 and 1/1000s. Must have been quite near or at minimum focus distance as the ball, or at least the remains of it, was almost touching the front element.

For these kinds of shots the 2.8 of the Tokina 11-16 doesn't help much. It's 10% narrower at the wide end and it has also 14cm longer MFD, so this would've looked a lot differend if shot with it.

Some filters can be used without vignetting on this lens, but even if it's a thick one, it'll only show at 10mm. You can always go to 11mm.

I understand. I was hoping that someone could recommend a specific IR filter that they've used successfully with this lens. Vignetting at 10mm isn't a major issue, though not quite ideal.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Long-time lurker and first time poster... This particular thread helped me decide on this lens, so I wanted to share a couple of shots.

I love how the colors seem to pop on this lens (before PP) so much more than they do on the 28-135mm I was using before.

Some processing has been done with these in Aperture, mostly to cleanup dust spots (my 40D attracts dusts like a sugar jar does ants) and a touch of sharpening.

Very nice- sharp and great color/contrast. The Sacramento Airshow has a great line-up and I'll be shooting both stills and video. The F-22 will be there tearing up the sky. I'm trying to schedule a video shoot with the demo pilot. I shot a f-22 video with the demo pilot "Max" Moga when it was there in 2007. http://www.kbvp.com/extreme-videos/f-22-raptor

Between airshows I try to squeeze in NASCAR, Indy, drag racing and motorcycle stuff. I actually used the 10-22 on a calendar shoot. Perspectives are more interesting sometimes. The same photo is in the calendar but had to be horizontal. This is a vertical crop of the same.

Great burst! However, the Snowbirds line-abreast is a great capture of their precision. They are perfect in the shot and the smoke system is consistant. The atmospherics do not break up the smoke in the distance- a rare shot.
