hey guys, i just found out about this forum and i love how much information it has so i signed up just yesterday.

i have an S3, with 58mm converter and an UV filter. i will be traveling to Romania this summer and i plan on taking many pictures. my question is:

what are some must-haves when traveling to get high quality pictures. i plan on taking a lot of pics on scenery, and of course everything else.

im really confused about lenses and filters and what they each do, so if you have any links to help me understand whats good and what works best for different types of shooting.

thanks

At the top, there is a search menu ... try that. I think you would get lots of information on filters UV polariser etc etc. You would be better informed by reading the pro and cons frpm various members. You could make decisions then on what is the best that fits your personality etc etc.

sorry, I could not be more helpful than that.

Peace

A UV filter is generally used only for protection on digital cameras. They're less susceptible to UV than film is. A polarizer can be useful outdoors in the sun. You might want to get a wide adapter (but don't get too extreme a one - they tend to seriously distort at the edges). I'd only worry about that though if you already find the widest setting on the S3 to be too restrictive. If you're not stretching the camera yet, go with what you're comfortable with.
