We've got 40mph gusts here today and some major t-storms. I was trying to get the moon but couldn't. And I didn't want to up the ISO.
There was some very cool lightining while I was driving back home. Too bad I didn't catch any of it :(. Actually I have yet to get a lightning shot.
Next time I'll try to get out in a little better whether so I can find some good spots.

I am just (barely) learning about HDR, but wanted to tell you that I think these photos are wonderful and beautiful.

Good use of HDR - they're not overly done like some that I have seen. The first and last photos capture my attention the most. What city is this?

Chicago?
I love #1, absent a bit of perspective correction. All three are fantabulous!

Really like the 3rd shot. Nice HDR technique, I agree that it is not over done.

very nice but the crooked horizon is VERY distracting

Thanks for all the kind words. I personally think using HDR properly will yield very nice photos not much different from what your eye sees. Although some heavy HDR stuff does look kinda cool. I just see it as a tool for combining best exposure settings in one picture.
The city is Chicago (Sears Tower should be the giveaway), which I personally think is an awesome place :)
Blonde: Yeah I probably rotated and cropped a bit before posting, but from the vantage point where I was shooting, the shore line actually moves further away. So it's not just me with a funky tripod.

first. all very nice shots. well done.
only thing i have to say, is whats up with the moon (is that the moon?) in the first shot, its dark?

Yes it's the moon, and I have no idea why but when I merged the photos it decided to get rid of it.

I enjoy #3 but watch your horizons, its leaning to the left slightly. Fix that up and its a winner!

200% better. What I love most about this image is the implied motion in the clouds. Frame it and hang it!

That's freakin' great!
Looks like you were on the museum campus for the shoreline photo...am I right? I was just there a couple of weekends ago, visiting the planetarium. Excellent spot to take pictures. Well done, chap!

Thanks for all the kind words. I really want to practice it more. Here's a question for those of you who have been doing HDR for some time. When you take the photos, do you take only 3 pics or do you end up taking more. All the photos I posted were compiled of at least 5 different shots. But does it really make that much of a difference.
