hi

on the histogram area on my 30 d once i have focused and recomposed the red focus point doesnt show my initial focus point, rather where i have moved the camera too. is this normal.... am i making sense....lol

If you focused using, say the "center" focus point, the histogram should still show the "center" focus point without regard to the image behind it.

i just hoped it would show the actual point of focus.......... not where it ended up, if you see what i mean?

The camera has no way of knowing you moved. It can only tell you the focus point you used.

The purpose of it is to just tell you which focusing point was used, not where you actually focused the camera. Those points never move in the display so it could never be used to tell you where you focused on the subject or the scene.
