Looks odd to me.Maybe my monitor but they don't look particularly sharp and definitely low on saturation and contrast. At least from what i can see
Man,is this lens made by sigma??
Hopefully it's not as average as these pics seem to show

Yeah......the images look a tad soft.............But people will buy it more for the weight and size...........
For that price though.........I would rather build my biceps for better image quailty.

Pity. Doesn't seem to be better than my 75-300IS optically at 250-300mm. Same image softness wideopen. It seems I'll save $1200 :)
Regarding the low contrast and washed colors, it seems to me most pictures were taken using AdobeRGB colorspace instead of sRGB. They have the clasic greenish-washed look of AdobeRGB ones , but as Canon doesn´t attach colorspace info in the JPEG files, I can´t be sure

I can't say it's a bad look-it's just that a typical L lens is SO razor sharp and contrasty that anything even slightly less is a slight disapointment
I want to see someone compare the DO with the cheap 75-300 IS + the 100-300 8)

The problem is that Canon has hyped this as being on par with L glass. And it's priced that way too.

I'd like to see it compared to those two Canons, plus the Sigma 100-300 f/4 and the Sigma 80-400 OS. Hopefully the review sites will do some in-depth comparisons soon.
