OK, although most of the time my photos come out quite well, and I am generally happy with them, I do have something coming up that I am a bit worried about.
I will be taking some photos at the Northwest 200 Road Race soon using my Canon EOS-30D and a Canon 100-400 f/4.5-5.5 L IS USM lens.
Taking into account that the bikes will be anything from 70ft to 150ft away from me, I was hoping that someone out there would have a good starting point for settings, I do not have anyway of proofing the photos other than the screen on the camera and well, that is not the best, certainly not as good as a Laptop or a PC, which I will not have with me, the other point being that unlike a short circuit race such as Donnington, etc you do not get the loads of laps to try different things.
If possible I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could let me know some of the setting that have worked for you, just to give me a good start.
Much appreciated.
James
