How many shots can i realistically expect from the BP-511 using a regular USM autofocus lens. The temp would be between 70-95 degrees. Highspeed compact flash. Need to know anything else?
Thanks!

Thanks, I just ordered the camera and am pricing extras. Any reason i should avoid other manufacturers for batteries?

On second thought, does anybody know any real-world data. Lets say I am at a wedding for 8 hours, shooting 700-800 shots with an external flash. Using the LCD maybe 1/3 to 1/2 time just to view shots to ensure exposure.
Thanks

I think 2 batteries would probably do it.

I went to the zoo and shot 550 pics over 4 hours with the camera on non-stop except when I changed lens or CF, one battery did it with some juice still left over.

For a wedding I would have 2 spares and take my charger, I like to cover all my bases. Actually in my camera bag I have 3 spare batteries (4 total) and a charger, I have yet to use up more than 2 batteries total. I don't mind having more batteries than I need, better than having less batteries than I need.
