Yesterday at the Camas Liliy fields. This is daughter Fannie and granddaughter Sparkle. Fannie is a excellent photographer with the proper gear (Canon XTi).

I did push the saturation on this a bit. Lens was the Canon 70-200/2.8 IS.

Comments and suggestions always appreciated.

Thanks for looking - without the people? It would be in the Landscape section...

Needless to say, I have a ton without the people too - I'll process some up later today.

Very interesting. Your daughter and granddaughter seem to be floating amoung the OOF foreground and background. And I love saturation. I tend to push it a little too far myself sometimes.

Only two things about it bug me a little. 1) I always prefer to see faces in people pictures, and 2) something makes me think it would be better if the composition were reversed, with the open space behind your granddaughter.

Thanks Curtis - my eye for composition is not real good so I generally shoot several arrangements. With this shot I only have one other and they are centered up. In looking at it I have to agree with you about putting them to the right of the frame.

I actually like the placement. The story I see from the photo with their placement is that the granddaughter lead her mother on a long run until she got to the spot she wanted. The space behind her mother is just a small sample they had to run through.

I had the same thoughts as Curtis about the open space being behing the little girl. In the centered composition, you might be able to do some cropping to see what the "flipped" composition would look like. Great capture...

I don't know I rather like the off center picture.. and the color is not pushy at all. :) Just right for me!
