G7 red eye

any suggestions on better managing red eye (other than processing) with the on-camera flash unit - the red feature does not seem to work very well (and annoys everyone!)

Yeah, I noticed that too. Alternate is to use my 580EX on the G7. The flash being higher will fix that, as well as bouncing if off walls or ceilings with a white card to lighten the shadows.
