These pictures are of the Boston skyline from about 45 miles away, the longest lens I have is 300mm. I am trying to get the cropped image clearer than it is to try to make the skyline out. Thier is a natural haze around the skyline at the time of the picture, I have the raw file.
Can this be done, or taken at a different setting, or do I just need a longer reaching lens?
Thanks.

Not sure what you want to achieve here , though here is a bit of feedback. 1. To much haze here to get any real outline of the skyline, (polarizer may help.) and I don't think what ever you do in PS or Raw processing is going to help. 2. If you want any real detail you will need a longer reach (longer hands into the pocket $lens). 3. Your sensor has lots of dust bunnies on as well. Just a little feedback. Cheers Robert

There is bad news and more bad news. Those shots really cannot be helped much. There is no program that can put back in detail that is not there. Secondly, with haze that bad, not filter is going to help much. haze is caused by particles in the air, water or solid, that either block or bend the light. A haze filter can work to reduce the amount of redirected UV rays hitting your sensor, but that is a really bad haze. Get closer, wait for a clear day.

Thanks for the input.
Nomatter what the day their is always a haze around. The city is Boston, the capital of Massachusetts. The whole point of the picture is to capture the skyline from the front steps of the house, when you drive up to the house you can see the skyline from the driveway/house. So getting closer is not an option.
I guess that picture will have to do!!!
Thanks again...

Yeah, bummer. Sometimes you just have to work with what you have. Sometimes, right after a storm, the air is a bit clearer. I hope you get a good day. Good luck with it.
