I wasn't really sure whether these were more suited to the people section as they are not professional surfers but there again none of the sports stuff I post features professionals. These were all taken on a recent trip to Cornwall to see my daughter, her boyfriend (forth shot down) is quite in to body boarding and she is also trying her hand.

Nice, I was down in Newquay at the weekend, what lens was you using for those shots?

A couple of crops from the above shots, I need to get a bit more practise at this me thinks but as I live in Yorkshire; not a place renown for surfing; it could be a while before I get the chance again. Some shots were taken with my 100-400 plus 2x tele-converter so no auto focus, I don't really recommend that set up as it was a real pig tracking your subject and focusing at the same time.

Fabulous shots. I'm down in Cornwall quite often (strangely enough my daughter lives down there as well!). Whereabouts were these taken?

So are profesionals not real people, or do real people not do sports ... mmmm I need to think about that when I am watching the football from my arm chair this weekend.
However - great captures, great expressions, great images of the power of the sea and good to see clean beaches.
There was an international surfing competition in Thurso last weekend - I wonder if anyone got any images from the top of the country.

Thanks for the complement TeeJay, all but the Wind Surfer were taken at Sennen Cove which is about a mile North of Land's End. The Wind Surfer was taken at Praa Sands which is near Germore on the A394.

You know what I meant I'm sure Neil ;) , two teams playing on a football pitch is definitely sport. If one of the players then goes home and has a kick around with his child in the back garden would you post a picture of that in the Sports Section or in the People Section? All the surfers that day were just having fun and not competing against any one; so is it really classed as sport?

Good question Mick. I have friends who never stop competing, whatever the situation and whatever the game. I know others that never seem to start.
I think it is a state of mind, and the guys in the images look pretty keyed in, so I am going to go for sport.
