Hi all
Here are some shots of Eiders. It can be a challenge to expose the male correctly but I'm pretty happy with these. Please feel free to comment (C&C). :-)

show off :) !!! Sindri--these shots are amazing! the last three are spectacular. you are right about properly exposuring the male common eiders. because their eyes are dark as well as their head, it's very difficult to get good exposure on the eye. BUT YOU DID!!! great job. You do realize that the last image should be the iconic image people see to identify these birds. IT is absolutely breathtaking...did you take it w/ your 55-200? + 1.4?

Excellent Eider shots Sindri. Tough with a black and white bird. But yours are very good. I love the in- flight shot!
Seems like its Edier duck post time. I'll have to find my King Eider and start a thread. :)

Another beautiful series Sindri. I really like the little things in #3, the wave caught breaking on the bow and the whites and blacks both just right. :)

Man, you need to contact the folks at Audibon and get a commission to illustrate their next field guide with your photos! Awesome work, every shot.

What a strange shaped head. Looks like someone grabbed the bill and stretched the head out! Your shots are tremendous! That flight shot is out of this world!

I did use the Bigma for all of these shots. Love this lens. :-) I really like your work and you have been posting some excellent shots with the Bigma. :-)
where did you photograph these and HOW did you get so close?
It's actually not that hard to get close to the Eiders here in Iceland. Take the time to study the birds behaviour and you will be rewarded. ;-)
Fantastic series again Sindri, my bet is you took these with that Bigma. Beautiful shots, well done !
How right you are! ;-) These are all taken with the Bigma. :-)
WOWZA! These Eider images are really mind-blowing, Sindri! I love them so much, i am speechless.

Glad you liked them mate. As one Bigma owner to another...don't you just love this lens? I'm still amazed by the IQ it delivers. Really a joy to work with. :-)

Sindri mate, this are a fabulous series and every shot is as surpurb as the last. You set the bar very high and seem to always keep it at that level or better. Love the 2 portraits. Your Images are always a sheer pleasure to view, real eye-candy. Bravo!
