I just placed an order at BH I didn't mean to place. How can I cancel the order before it ships?!

Call them first thing in the morning. I doubt they will ship the order tonight given you placed the order after normal business hours.

Although I have no direct knowledge of their inner workings - I do think most web based orders are fulled from their brooklyn distribution center - I would guess it operates past normal business hours.
Anywah what the big deal - just don't open it and return it. Did you find a used one ;)

You know that button that says "place your order"? Don't press that until you're ready!

what a great mistake to make however. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one.

I'd send them an email, followed by a phone call as soon as they open. You're probably ok. I ordered something on Sunday, and it didn't ship until late Monday. You've probably got time to cancell it. A little buyers remorse?

Tough luck. You can't cancel your order without penalty. My advice: accept the lens and try selling it here. Since you've admitted you didn't want it, I'll take it off your hands. You'll have to take a hit though. Sell it for about 60% of what you paid since it's been taken off the showroom floor.

its so funny if you REALLY think about it. skipping over the little details, i went from:
Xti - 10-22, 17-55, 70-200 f/4LIS
to a
5D - 17-40, 24-70, 35L
to a
30D - 10-22 and 35L
WOW talk about an adventure. It's over now though. Soon as my 35L gets here, I might just be inclined to take a few shots.;)

I was just playing around on Amazon, looking at getting the 10-22, 17-55 and the 70-200 and wanted to see what sort of discount I'd get. Long story short, my account is set to 'one click ordering' and I pressed 'buy' thinking that's i'd have to put in CC details etc. Instead I got a screen thanking me for my order etc etc. After I got up off the floor, I was able to cancel the whole thing. Funny mistake to make though :)

^^ That's why I don't have 1-click activated!
And August, don't worry, i'm sure you'll be selling that baby on in no time.
