I have the camera apart now(I'm very technical and want to avoid "labor" costs) and the screen is a Sony branded "AM336BLAA". Google shows up no relevant results for this...

Is there anywhere I can get a replacement screen reliably and cheaply ($60 at most?)?

Thanks.

Canon Parts Service; they've got a 732 area code phone number and have been mentioned on here in this and the EOS forum (including the phone no.)

Can you get just the screen? I guess if you know what you're doing you can repair it yourself.

Yeah, I opened the camera up yesterday and realized that it'd be quite easy to do.

The screen is plugged into the camera's mainboard in two locations. One for power i'm assuming, and one for a feed of the display information.

The great thing is that the cables are not soldered to the mainboard, they're plugged into a socket. Very easy to replace.

I called canon, and the guy told me that even though I opened it, if I seal it back up like it wasn't opened and send it in, there's a possiblilty Canon may repair it under warranty.

If not, then oh well, honestly its worth a try not to have to pay.

I bought one from canon at 732-521-7007. (when you call say it is a Sony as there is more than one screen in different cameras)

Ohh. Now that I look it seems that you asked this question a long time ago.

If you want to see photos of the process I did they are here.
