Hi!
I'm not sure to post this in the right section, but...
I want to buy a P&S to go along my 350D/XT. I need something small, with a 28mm lens (don't care that much about the tele end), shutter and aperture priority modes and of course good image quality. 5MP would be enough for my needs.
Has anyone any suggestion?
Thanks ;-)

You can buy an Wide Angle attachments for many popular Canon's I believe. Your familiar with the navigation system and quality of Canon's. Search for “wide angle canon powershot” on sites like Amazon or shopping comparison websites or ebay. You can get one for A640 A630 A620 A610… I am thinking of getting one for my S3 (cheap import from ebay). I would actually buy the lens first because it is harder to get hold of.
I presume we need to know your budget becuase there are too many options... G series is nice as you know?

I'd rather have the 28mm in the camera than having to buy an attachments (which loses quite some quality I presume).
As for the G series, although I know they are very nice, they are probably too big for my needs. I want something that I can put in a pocket, taken along when I go biking and don't want to take my SLR, ... I know that what I want may be quite impossible to find (by Canon or others) :-( but who knows, a good solution may exist!
As for the budget, I would say 250$ (~180€).

ok, so I went to google - a good friend of mine - and found on dpreview.com a thread and comparison calculator on the same issue. I put in: wide ange of 28mm or under and ultra compact and 5mp:
i got:
ricoh r1v
r2
r3
r30
for compact:
Fujifilm FinePix E510 Zoom in the same price range
***note that there weren't any prices for the ricoh - so I don't know if it truly fits the range you mentioned
i take back the first part - i forgot to put in that you wanted shutter and aperture priority. No ultra compact can do it. The e510 can do it for the compacts though.

Thanks Ceriltheblade ;-) I had found the comparator on dpreview (as well as on imaging ressources) but wondered if anyone had another Idea....
