Well, it's been almost exactly a year since I started photography and since then I've learn a ton, spent a lot more than I ever expected :eek: and loved every minute out with the camera.

Here's my gallery, you can even see a POTN neck strap on the first intro image of me! :D

Did anyone have a look or is the photography a bit uninspiring and plain? Any tips?

Your work looks good from what I saw, but it took far too long for each picture to load. This could be an issue with my internet speed right now as I am on wireless, but I do not have this issue in other galleries. I did however try it on my work machine and it was pretty quick, granted that box is running a T3 line and I dont think many people out there are running T3.

May be due to me using 100% jpg quality. Perhaps I should knock it down to 80 or 90. thanks for the info! :)

ok, I've notched up the compression on them all. Can't tell the difference in quality really but they load a fair bit quicker!

Firstly, I was very impressed with the look of your gallery, but I hate the music I had to hit mute, then the high pitched whine drove me mental as I was navigating around, BUT you have some gorgeous images, well exposed with really puncy colours, apart from the audio I LOVE IT! VERY UP MARKET!

lol, sorry about that. What high pitch whine were you getting? Was it the computery bleeps when moving the mouse over the images?

I loved the pictures and the music, I actually listened to the music for a while after I finished looking at the pics. The candid shots were my favorite.

I'm just an amateur but I really liked your gallery. I especially liked the landscapes.

Also, I muted it right away. I would really consider if you want the music on the site. To me it seems like it's more of a distraction. I would think you'd want people's full attention on your great photos.

The music is nice but it starts WAY too loud. Navigation is also confusing to me and I'm not computer illiterate. It's nice, but not intuitive. Your galleries also go too deep. It's redundant to go People>People>Images when you can simply go People>Images. Makes sense for the Animals and Landscapes since they're broken down further, but none of the others are. I also see no nice static method of arriving back to your home page, and I don't see an About Me page anywhere either. Those are kinda nice to have.

The gallery is great, I like it a lot. It's a great design and everything but I'd get rid of the music player, it's kind of annoying (at least to me).

And the photography is great too!

I got sick of waiting for your site to open so I closed the window. I only have access to dial up here so a site has got to be reasonably fast for me to take the time to access it. Maybe if I had turned the music off earlier it would have loaded faster...

I like the flash layout, and Im really picky about 100% flash sites. What flash template (if any) did you use?
I also muted the sound immediately but ONLY because it started out too loud. I'd recommend if you can, set the default volume somewhere around 30%. Music should be ambient, not overpowering, in my opinion. Other than that, great site, and excellent photos.

Thanks again, some of your feedback I've looked in to. The music should start at 30% anyway as that's what I set it to. Hmmm, i'll check my config files and double check that! :)

The flash player is imagevuex and it's great to work with.
