I've been shooting these birds for over a week now and still can't believe I had never seen one until they arrived last week. They're all over the feeders today, males and females. This little female was patient enough to pose for the camera.

I'm using a Rebel XT and on that shot I used a 400mm 5.6. Sometimes I use a 2X TC, but not on that one. Thanks for the kind words!

she looks quite neat and tidy! I'll have to check for her or her kin in my backyard.

Oh I like this shot. Had one at my feeder but the camera bumped the window frame and I scared her off.

the blurred background is a combination of low light and the plug-in demo program NeatImage. Great little program to play with if you haven't already.
