[finally got out with this new prime and tested it at Iowa cubs game . Ive never posted pics to the site so I hope this goes well. I must say I was very happy with the sharpness and colors this lens produces. This was taken 9 rows behind first base at AV 1/1250 F4 IS0 100 . The play was at 2nd base with runner safe.

Great lens huh? I love mine.
Next thing you should get is a 1.4x Canon TC for it. Teamed up with this lens, it is an awesome combo with little to none IQ loss. Enjoy.

Hey congrats on the new lens! I just got one myself, but so far have only used it on birds. Can't wait to get some softball/baseball shots this summer. BTW, I used to live in Cedar Rapids and enjoyed going to the Kernels games there.

Thank you everyone. The game was a noon game and the light was very nice all day and the lens really performed . The focus was as fast as anything I have. Yes Im wanting a TC for it...not sure if canon or another brand at this point. Maybe a try at photographing sprint cars this weekend with it.

Congratulations on the new lens. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, sharp, relatively light to carry around and the IS works well.

It works well with the 30D......You can just machine gun a scene like this pitch and your gonna end up with a keeper probably
