Nice, and I personally always liked shots like #2, with the motion imparted to the image.

Good exposures, and #1 has some awesome-ness to it!

Is that the lens that makes the background look like that or is that done in PS??

To me, his look is the one of someone that just has given 110%.The light on his face adds to the mood of the shot. I liked that picture much better then the second one in the set.
The blurred back round or "brokeh" is all lens in that shot. Taken with my 70-200 AV set at f4, iso 400. No crop at all, the only PP was just levels and unsharpen mask a bit.
