Broken hook on the memory card door S200

has anyone tried to replace the memory card door on a S200? I broke the plastic hooh that was on the door. Not sure how it happened....:(
does cannon sell replacement doors? are they metal?

it's not very difficult to remove.

The parts number is CD1-4236-020

it is a modified one but it's still plastic

Shouldn't cost more than $12-15 to have a new CF door shipped to you.

The pics of the door swap helped!!! I called a Canon service center today, and found out it was around the corner from where I worked. I went to the service center at lunch, and to my surprise, Canon was going to charge $70 to replace the door. The part itself only cost $6. I decided to buy the part and worst case, snap off the hook from the door and glue it onto the broken door.


Thanks again to EoSD30fReAk for the pics. I was able to do the door swap in less than 5 min!!! and canon wanted %70 plus tax for this?????

Hi,

I have the same prob and plan on ordering the CF door replacement. Any instructions on installing it? The previous post that refers to pics of the install/repair process has an outdated link...
