Ok, since we announced that this is a community activity, I'll start the thread. This week it's color and glass. This is a topic that can be done out of doors or indoors if you are experiencing inclement weather.

Happy shooting

The rules are the same as usual but just to remind everybody the rules are:

- take photos from sunup friday until sundown sunday
- post photos by monday or when you have time.
- usual forum rules for image posting apply which means max 800 pixels on longest side and max 2 attachments.

- take photos from sunup friday until sundown sunday (though this weekend I think we will extend it to sunup thursday to sundown monday because of easter).

^^ No worries

Now let's see some GLASS and COLORS

Here is my first attempt after work today. Indoors with a colored gel over my 430ex Speedlite. This is a glass vase that I have wanted to photograph since I got it last Christmas. I took a few shots, with several different gels with 100mm Macro. I'm not satisfied with this, but hopefully it will get things going.

A somewhat pitiful attempt along side the stupendous entries so far this weekend.

Thanks, Joayne, we've now got about 3 weeks until we can move ito the house, we're getting excited about it!

My second shot (for colour) is this vile coloured pair of shoes that Ali got given for her birthday (last week)....

Terrible shots really, but glass and colour involved in both...

Know one thing though, I'm going to go back to the church with more time AND a tripod soon :)

Can you believe that I was around stained glass windows for the better part of the day today, with my camera, and didn't take a shot?? I'm hopeless.

Nice contributions everyone. :D

Interpreting light differently, this is my nephew at his first communion this weekend. Some might say he was in the light of the lord, I would say he is light in my life

Great Shot Linkzi, first one looks like a '56 T Bird?
Skrim17 Great intrepretation, Family is important.
BeckyN , great colours, good to see that Spring has finally arrived.
Nadder-diary Love the shots. Stained glass is fun to shoot.
Pete: Great shots
John Great keeper. We may need it to remind us of the Honey Bee that are fast disappearing.
Joayne: Lovely shot, you got the lighting right.

Thanks for the comments Guys, I want to go back soon and shoot it at night, I think it will be interesting.

Any suggestions for this weekend?

Here's one: a repeat of a previous one, "What we did this weekend."

Here are three more: 1. Gathering Places (places where people congregate) 2. Transportation 3. Communication

joayne

I do like "what we did this week-end".. No need to fit in some shooting while doing your weekend  . That or TRANSPORTATION.. Thanks for picking things up Barbara..
Anyone else with a preference?

nadder-diary
11th of May 2007 (Fri), 01:10
quite like the idea of transportation but I'm quite happy to go with the flow. The glass one was the first time I'd taken the camera and gone looking for something specific, actually enjoyed it alot.

Well as it is Friday, and somewhere is the world almost Saturday, I will start the threat.. I am going with Transportation as that is the only thing that has been responded to...
Hope this is OK with everyone who wants to participate. Here is the link.
