Hi all,

I know this is a forum for stills, but I need a new digital video camera for work (current one has .38 Mp). Any good/bad experiences out there or does everyone on here shoot 99% stills like me? Any good web sites with reviews etc?

Thanks,

Steve - Toledo

I've used a DV camcorder at the church and am VERY impressed with the results. It's light enough to hand hold and have even mounted in various spots. It's rather pricey. I'm not sure what your budget is. Here's the link.

If you are looking for a personal DV camcorder, I have the Canon ZR-200 and am looking to upgrade to the ZR-800. I am satisfied with the quality. I connect to my laptop via firewire and edit the movies on my computer. These are about $300.

I have a Hi8 DV and used it more before I had my dSLR but one thing I dabbled in was streaming video conversion(s). If you have a look here http://www.villagevisits.co.uk/gallery.shtml?c=show_thumbs;p=South%20Africa I have three slightly different file sizes. A DV is a good addition to any photographers kit IMO.

HTH :)

PS I have not done sufficient on my fledgling web gallery :(
