Hi,

I would really appreciate it if anyone could provide me with advice on how to return an item for a refund from Canada to United States. I ordered a Digital Rebel XT from B&H Photo last week. I used UPS expedited shipping and had to pay GST+PST on top of that.
The issue with the camera is that there is a rather large speck of dust/hair under the LCD display cover. I could live with a dead pixel, but this is more like 20-30 pixel area that is affected by this speck. So, I decided to return the item, and get a refund.
Here are my questions - Does B&H usually send a return shipping label for defective products? I hope so, since I already paid $32US for shipping. If not, what is the most reliable/cheapest way to ship the product from Ontario, Canada to B&H?
Secondly, how do I go about getting back the amount that I paid to UPS for PST/GST? Do I go to UPS, or should I fill out some government tax forms?
I already ruled out the possibility of exchanging the item for another identical one. I will just buy one locally, even if the price is a bit higher. Considering the reliability of consumer goods these days, and all the dust-related issues (sensor, LCD), it might be a good idea to buy locally.
Thanks,
Boris

Here's (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home;jsessionid=G8sr0TGNbG!-9880419?O=RootPage.jsp&A=getpage&Q=HelpCenter/ReturnExchange.jsp) the information from their website. Looks like you need a Return Authorization Number (RNA). I'd call them tomorrow as soon as they re-open.
