Hi Guys,

I have a G5 and have had this for about 5 years or more. I find that some of my original CF cards are now becoming a little unreliable and I need to buy some more.

As the price of CF has dropped dramatically since I got the camera I wondered what is the largest card that the G5 can support.

Thanks in advance

Andy

Sandisk's Product Compatibility page at http://www.sandisk.com/Compatibility/Device(1115)-Canon-PowerShot_G5.aspx indicates your G5 can use up to an 8GB card.

I vaguely recall reading once about some difficulties that could arise were one to try to store more than 2000 pictures on the CF card in the G5. I regret that I don't remember any details regarding this warning, just that it was part of a discussion thread I once stumbled across regarding some fellow who wanted to upload a couple of thousand pictures from his computer to his G5. Anyway, might be something to look into, should you opt for an 8GB card and shoot mostly JPG.

Many thanks for your reply. I think I'll give a couple of 2GB cards a try and see how they go.
