Challenge #8 - Hands
You can tell a lot about a person from their hands. Some of the best images I have seen have been of well-worn hands. Hands can convey feelings too. Show us your best expressions!

Taken with a Nikon (GASP!) D70, so technically not eligible, but I thought I'd share it anyway.

It was one of the first pictures I ever took, before I even understood how the camera works. Forgive the lack of sharpness and the border merger, please...

Hi Cat - Nice shot, but I've looked at the rules and it says 'DSLR', so I guess it probably does disqualify it. Unless anyone esle knows otherwise, it might be best to post your other one.

Good luck!

Such difficult choices, and a great range of entries. Just as I suspected, there are stories to be told in all of these hands.

Drum roll......... and the winners are:

1st - leolo007 - 'Reaching for Darkness'. It somehow gives an impression of sadness, and the BW makes us focus on what more there might be there. I hesitate to ask what that sadness might be. Well done leolo007!

2nd - Ed (dilorenzo1954) - 'Channeling Dad through a common passion'. Again, great use of BW, and I like the composition. Great stuff Ed.

3rd - Cat (cfpackerfan) - 'Old hands, new love'. This captures the essence of the tenderness of two lives brought together in love. Nice Cat!

Difficult choices indeed, and I'd be really interested to know the stories behind all of the images.

Crypto - what an eerie image. How did you do that?

Well done again everyone - over to you leolo007 for the next challenge!

Thanks Jim. My significant other was doing a paraffin wax treatment on her hands and I loved the way it looked, so I took a shot.

Hey! WOW! this is a real surprise for me. A little background of me. I recently purchased my first DSLR and already my family and friends say I found a hidden talent. I've seen a lot of different reactions from people. Specially for the self-portrait I use as avatar. Which I took the same session as the reaching for darkness picture.
Congrats to Ed and Cat and to the rest of the participants for great photos. My personal favorite of the submissions was banana's Peace and Love, the title, the rings the fingers intertwined... awesome! Ok so getting ready to set up the next competition. This is my first time so I must ask, do I just do a copy/paste of the rules and change the obvious things?
Again thanks for you comments on my picture, and good luck on the next competition!

edit: never mind the question, the new challenge is up, motherly love.
