Canon Digital Rebel or Sigma SD9?

I take alot of pictures for my school yearbook, and we have a Digital Rebel, although the SD9 looks like a better choice becasue of the price point. Can I get a few suggestions on which one to buy, from anyone who owns or has used any of these cameras?

I think that you'll find that reliability and picture quality put the digital rebel ahead by a wide margin. That isn't to say that there aren't some decent Sigma lenses that you may purchase in the future, but for the body itself, the Rebel produces cleaner, more natural shots.

I also do have canon lenses, and my yearbook does also, so that's a big plus. What about the Nikon?

The Nikon D-70 has a few more features than the Rebel - and costs a little more. Image-wise, its about equal IMHO. Build-wise, its similar with a polycarbonate/plastic housing and steel framing underneath. Its a good camera.

But, if you already have Canon lenses, you're probably money ahead with the Rebel. That is especially true if you have any of Canon's mid-range or top-grade lenses. Canon does have an edge in lense quality, particularly in the longer telephoto lenses.

As Tom said, you may just as well stick with Canon if you have the lens's.
The D70 is a nice camera. It takes very good shots and there is a difference between the Rebels photos and the D70's photos, but to say which is better? That is a tough one. I would tend to be bias with the Rebel.
The D70 does out perform the Rebel with faster downloading and auto focusing but at the price, again I'd lean toward the Rebel.

Often it works better to use an example photo that the viewer will recognize.

I was kind-of wondering what it was myself. But whatever it is/was, it is well focused and exposed. I'm guessing that it is some type of outdoor grilling device. :)

Well, that was an awesome deception. :)

I really had no idea myself, and was only guessing by the "grill" appearance. It could just as well have been a Weber or a Char-Broil. :)

Very nice vehicle, BTW. I can't afford it - and if I could, I'd probably spend the money on a fleet of Fords and the best lenses for my camera.
