My wife asked for some flower shots to hang on our nursery walls. I shot these today with my XT, Kit Lens, and Nifty Fifty. Out of about 100 shots these were the only ones I liked. These have no PP. How do they look?

i like your 5th photo a lot although it does blend into the background a little. The individual flowers would maybe benefit from a larger arpeture to blur the background a little more as it is a little distracting. Good work

#1 seems to me to be a little too dark. The white point could be set better and more contrast is possible.
#2 is my favorite. Composition and lighting and interest are all tops. Congratulations!
#3 has better contrast and lighting than #1 but is too centered for good composition.
#4 could use more contrast. Looks washed out, and the highlights are blown out, but the composition is better than #1 and #3.
#5 needs more saturation in those blues, and the green stalks are not looking very healthy - not a good choice of subjects.

I agree with Robert (though my opinion is less professional and i'm surely less knowledgable)...
Sorry, but the last one is just yikes, no offense! I'd try to avoid mixed backgrounds, i don't think it looks good (i.e. green leaves from another planet, brown mulch, plus there's a rock too making for 3 different textures and colors in the background) though often it's unavoidable if you want to take the picture when it comes to a planet like this. I'd just suggest not taking it at all. :-P

My honest opinion is that they are very ordinary. (sorry)

I bet you were attracted to that last one by the gorgeous color of the flowers? So, why not get right in there with them, and minimize that ugly background?
