Hi Guys

I am usually in the wedding section, but I have recently taken a break from weddings and have become more interested in Pregnancy & Newborn, Children & Family portraits.

This side of my business is fine and going well, but i started networking last week with Children's Clothing companies and have had some response back.

Then i realised i had no prices haha! So i sent off some packages starting reasonably low at $300:

*Includes 2 children
*6 web based images
*2 high quality images – for posters/banners & Advertising
*Full copyright of all images
-All images are photo shopped (Touched up)

And then the highest

$600
*Includes up to 4 children
*CD Negatives of whole shoot – photo shopped
*Full copyright of all images
*With a theme of your choice – as above
*DVD Slideshow of images

Can you guys have a look at these prices and let me know what you think? Give opinions - too high too low whatever, and then if anybody else does photography like this, what are your prices?

I know it's a cliche question and everyone asks on prices, different places and different circumstances, but i am only looking at a ball park figure here.

Here are some of my recent pix...

We have been leaning away from weddings and toward children and bridal sessions. They are a lot more fun for us, and usually more lucrative (ratio to hours spent working to income generated).

This is what we do - and it works for us b/c our target demographic has disposable income and wants art of their kids - not snap shots, so they are willing to pay for it.

Our newborn sessions are $400 and come with 10 digital proofs. Our reg. children sessions are $275 and include 1-2 kids and also comes with 10 digital proofs. We specialize in toddlers. We don't have too many print packages, so basically, if they order an album we create a custom print package. Our clients (for toddler sessions) have been clearing $1500 in orders, b/t prints and albums. And this (below) has been our top seller. Art Leather stopped offering it, so I need to find another distributor...but people LOVE this book.

I think the more fun and personalize stuff you offer, the more they will be willing to come to you if its a fun expereince and the keepsakes are cool and withstand the test of time. Good luck!
