I was waiting for some justabirds to land on my Haunted Dead Tree when this one came along with plans of lunching from the feeder.

100-400 L + 1.4 TC, no crop.

Dang - its not often that you get to see the same squirrel two posts in a row. That is a great capture (and sharp as a tack).

That is nice and sharp. Is that a "wild" justasquirrel? The squirrels in my area are so tame I have to shoo them out of the car before I leave the park.

Nice shot.

If you are ever in Seattle, go to the University of Washington campus and bring a pocket full of peanuts. You will have squirrels all over you.

If you show them a peanut they will literally climb up your leg and take it out of your hand. One word of caution though, make sure you are wearing jeans and not shorts as their little claws are sharp  (don't ask me how I know).

When I lived up in northern BC, we had tons of squirrels in our back yard. We could get them to walk right up to our lap and take pieces of bread that had peanut butter on them right out of our mouths. The trick was to lay out pieces of bread for them, then after a few days sit on the deck very still. Put a little piece of bread sticking out of your mouth and wait for them to come up to you. You can't move. And if you have more bread, hide it because they're smart little devils and will grab that instead.

Here's a scanned picture of me when I was about 15 years old, feeding a squirrel. It got to the point where we couldn't even lay out on the deck for a suntan and one of those little guys would be walking all over our backs looking for food. :)

You trained them to be back scratchers. Nice photo.

Wow Scottes - beautiful photo!

Come to think of it I don't see too many squirrels right here by the house for some reason ... I wonder if the neighbor's cats have anything to do with that .....
