We are having the second attempt by this pair at our nestbox. The first attempt ended with something getting in the nest and killing and removing the babies. We have since added the baffle and hope this will help.

Sharlotte,
Do you have house sparrows  in your area? They will kill and remove baby bluebirds from the nest. The baffle won't help if they're the culprits. Good luck with the 2nd attempt.

Nice shots Sharlotte. Good luck on the new brood. I hope they make it.

Golfsmith,
Yes we do have house sparrows. Do you mean they would somehow go into the nest and pull parts of the nest up and out of the hole? This is what happened to the other nest. This is why we thought it was a stray cat that got them. Any ideas how to get rid of the house sparrows?

Thanks Canonloader.
We sure hope they do too. There were 4 successful broods out of that box last year. Been having baby bluebirds out of it for 3 years and this is the first time that anything has happened to the babies.
